Lawmakers tour Wilmington

Dozens of state lawmakers descended on Wilmington for the weekend. They'll tour locations from the U.S.S. North Carolina to the University. It's an opportunity for the city that comes only once every two years. It's an effort by the Chamber of Commerce to sell the city. Among those in attendance, Senate Minority Leader Patrick Ballantine and State Representative Bonner Stiller. One of the first stops for the group was Screen Gems Studios. The North Carolina Film Commission is asking these lawmakers for one million dollars to stay competitive. This tour, they're hoping, will make the sale. The legislators also toured UNC-W and the State Port among others, all projects in which the chamber hopes to win the legislature's financial backing. Upcoming votes in the state house and senate will tell.
