BRUNSWICK COUNTY, (WECT) – Three children are left without a mother after a drunk driver crossed the line, causing a head-on collision Friday night just before midnight, according to the NC Highway Patrol.
Authorities say 22-year-old Daniel Brennick was driving a pickup truck north on River Road when he hit 38-year-old Satu Harris straight on. Harris died at the scene. Brennick was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, his condition unknown at this time.
Officers charged Brennick with DWI, but more charges are pending.
Friends say Harris was the mother of two boys who lived with her in Oak Island and a daughter who lives with her father in New York. She worked at the Verizon Wireless Call Center in Wilmington and was a known photographer in the Cape Fear area.
