Authorities have arrested the boyfriend of a pregnant woman whose dismembered body was found in a trash can after it washed onto a farmer's field in Alamance County.
Burlington police say Jerry Lynn Stuart is charged with first-degree murder in the death of April Renee Greer. Stuart is being held with bond and was scheduled to appear today in Alamance County District Court.
A high school class ring helped investigators identify the body as the 20-year-old Greer, who has been missing since March eighth. Police say Greer was eight and a half months pregnant at the time she disappeared.
Before the body was positively identified, Alamance County Sheriff Terry Johnson had speculated that it was that of missing Durham Symphony cellist Janine Sutphen, who disappeared in January. But authorities determined Tuesday that the body was not Sutphen's.
