New Hanover County: Water is now safe to drink

After a water main break Thursday, at least 1,800 residents living in the neighborhoods of King's Grant, King's Grant Extension, Wildflower and Crestwood were told to boil their water before drinking. According to New Hanover County officials that warning has now been cleared.

Officials say samples of the water was sent off for testing. The results of those tests came back today just before 6:00 p.m. and the water is now safe for drinking.

Many residents were upset that they were not notified of the danger. They say the county should have taken more responsibility in getting the information out.
