WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A local community activist has thrown his name into consideration for the New Hanover County School Board.
Dr. Philip C. Stine said he's going to file to run for the Board of Education Monday as a Democratic candidate.
Stine has lived in Wilmington for the last eleven years, serving on the New Hanover County Commission for Women, the Sister Cities Commission and the Child Advocacy Commission. He is also a founding member of the African-American Heritage Foundation of Wilmington.
Stine says he wants to reward quality teaching and develop education policies for all children in the county.
