NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - District Attorney Ben David plans to file for re-election Friday.
David has been serving New Hanover and Pender County residents in the District Attorney's Office since April 1999, and as the elected DA since December 2004.
United States Senator Kay Hagan (D-NC) placed David's name in consideration for the U.S. Attorney post in the Eastern District of NC in 2009, but he withdrew his name.
David says he has both personal and professional reasons for withdrawing his name from consideration, including his desire to do several projects as District Attorney in the coming years.
