Bob Bonner|email

One week after news broke that Benny Moss was being reassigned from his head coaching position with the men's basketball team his reassignment is complete.

On Thursday afternoon Moss was named Special Assistant to the Athletic Director.  He will begin his new position on Monday.

According to Moss's attorney J. Wesley Casteen his client will report directly to Kelly Mehrtens and his duties will include assistance with and participation in special projects as assigned.

"Coach Moss looks forward to continuing and maintaining his relationship with UNCW, and he looks forward to working for the benefit of the University and the student athletes."  Casteen said Thursday afternoon.

Moss was removed as head coach with three years remaining on his contract that pays 170-thousand dollars annually.
