BOLIVIA, NC (WECT) - Businessman Louie Lewis donated more than seven acres to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice to be used for a new, 20,000 sq. foot in-patient facility in Bolivia.
"I've been blessed and it is nice to share our blessings with others," said Lewis in a statement released Wednesday. "Lower Cape Fear Hospice has been great to the community and this brings me great joy to be able to do this."
Lewis has a cousin who was served by Lower Cape Fear Hospice in 2009.
The land is in central part of the County near the Brunswick Community hospital off of Highway 17. The proposed facility will feature seven bedrooms, a dining area, a kitchen, a community gathering area, a children's play area, and gardens.
Before construction can begin, Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter must raise an estimated $4 million for the project.
