WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - An already crowded field of candidates for the New Hanover County Commission grew by one Monday, when Dale Smith announced his candidacy for one of two open seats.
Smith says he wants New Hanover County to be in the top ten places to live in the country.
Smith participates in several community organizations. He served as chairman of the Mayor's Convention Center Task Force, Co-Chair of the Education Action Team of the Blue Ribbon Commission and is a member of Rotary Club.
There are two seats up for election this year on the New Hanover County Commission. Current Commissioner Bill Caster says he's running for re-election. Other candidates include Napier Fuller, Rick Catlin, Deborah Butler and Charles Dorman.
