NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - New Hanover County Government has it's own special place on YouTube.
Though the government channel hasn't gotten the same amount of hits as Susan Boyle's performance or created any cultural catch phrases like "Charlie Bit my finger," it's there waiting for you to watch it.
The New Hanover County channel was created last fall, but it took a huge step forward in the last few days.
Since October 2009, the county government has been using YouTube as experiment, broadcasting agendas and public service announcements.
Last Friday they took it one step further by posting a video that tries to recap the entire week.
"Our goal is to put these out every week," said County spokesperson Mark Boyer. "We think it's a way for residents to stay connected with what going on in their community."
Like many other governments New Hanover County has a Facebook page and Twitter account.
