Wilmington man appointed to statewide council

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue has appointed H. Lee Durham of Wilmington to the North Carolina Innovation Council.

Durham is a retired Partner at Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Charlotte. He serves as a Board of Director for First Citizens BancShares, Inc. in Raleigh and as a Board of Director for Triad Guaranty, Inc. in Winston-Salem. He received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Virginia Tech.

The commission has authority to assist in devising methods to identify, promote, and recruit potential enterprises and individuals to bring to North Carolina to augment innovation clusters and economic growth throughout the state. The board has between twenty-six and thirty-five members, each serving a limited term. The governor appoints all members.
