BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Residents in Brunswick County came together Thursday afternoon to celebrate one of America's most influential leaders of all time - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
WECT's Tim Pulliam was the key note speaker of the event. Timothy Daniels and Judge Ola Lewis both received awards for making a huge impact in the community.
Judge Lewis shared her award with everyone who has played a role in the county's drug court.
"We have participants and graduates who are working, drug-free, homes restored, families rebuilt and lives certainly in a better place," said Lewis.
County commissioner Charles Warren and a committee of volunteers organized the event.
