WILIMINGTON, NC (WECT)-The Cape Fear Memorial Bridge has made the list of North Carolina's top 20 most substandard bridges.
The study is published annually by AAA of Carolinas. The organization tries to determine which 20 bridges in the state are the most need for repair. The Cape Fear Memorial Bridge, which first opened in 1969, ranked 10th on the list.
A 54-year old bridge in Guilford County took the top honors as the worst bridge in the state. Meanwhile Forsyth County topped the list with six bridges among the top 20.
On the reverse side of the issue Pender and Duplin County had among the lowest number of substandard bridges in the state.
