BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Animal rights advocates met with leaders of the Brunswick County Health Department on Tuesday to talk about how the county's shelter handles pets.
The county has a gas chamber to euthanize animals, but it's not being used until the state signs off on it.
Animal advocates are trying to convince the county to never use it again.
David Stanley with the health department says both sides will continue meeting monthly to discuss ways to control the animal population.
