Brunswick County trying to restrict gaming parlors

BRUNSWICK COUNTY (WECT) – Brunswick County Commissioners have mandated that all gaming parlors in the county will have to be 1,500 feet away from schools and churches.

The issue was brought to county leaders after residents complained too many of the businesses were popping up in the area.

Monday night, commissioner Charles Warren said county leaders have little legal ground to stop the number of parlors, but they can regulate where each one is located.
