WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A Wilmington man is facing charges for filling a bogus police report. The man told officers he had been robbed at gun point in a retail parking lot.
52-year-old Anthony Bruce Oliver called police Thursday morning around 10:00, claiming he had just been held up at the WalMart on Sigmon Road.
He claimed two men pointed a sawed off shotgun at his face and made off with his wallet.
After a brief investigation police determined the story was manufactured and arrested Oliver. He is now being booked into the New Hanover County Detention Center.
