NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – New Hanover County Sheriff's Deputies have ruled out homicide as the cause of death for an elderly woman they say was dead inside her home for months.
The Star News is reporting deputies seized deodorizing powders and spray from the bedroom where 87-year-old Blanche Roth's body was found.
Investigators also looked for medical records and prescriptions that could help determine an exact cause of death.
Authorities believe five people were living with Roth's body for several months before contacting officials.
Roth's daughter, Amy Stewart, was charged with concealing her mother's death. Stewart's next court appearance is January 14.
