WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A Wilmington non-profit organization called "Kids Making It" has entered a contest to win grant money from Clorox company.

The bleach company is awarding five, $10,000 grants to non-profit groups that work with children.

"Kids Making It" works with at risk teenagers. The primary goal of the program is to teach them employable vocational, entrepreneurial and life-skills.

Originally the Clorox competition resulted in 5,000 entries from across the country. From that number "Kids Making It" has been chosen as one of the top 50 finalist.

The winners of the grants will be chosen by an election process on Facebook. Votes are limited to one per day from now until January 17th.
