BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - With an ounce of powder cocaine in the process of being converted in to crack, agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office busted an alleged drug operation in Bolivia.
Officers arrested Norman Laquinn Hewett Jr., 28, and charged him with two counts of trafficking cocaine and two counts of trafficking opium or heroin among other drug charges during the bust Friday.
The sheriff's office collected more than $20,000 of cocaine, marijuana and pills from the home on Autumn Lane after what they say was a two month investigation. There were nearly 100 grams of powder and crack cocaine, a quarter pound of marijuana and numerous prescription pills seized in the bust.
Agents also took a shotgun and more than 800 dollars from the home.
