ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WECT) - A man from the center of a shooting death investigation was in court Friday for an unrelated incident.
22-year-old Caleb Stoker is in court for a domestic violence protective order violation.
He was involved in a fatal shooting at Tory Hole Park in October. According to District Attorney Rex Gore, the shooting stemmed from an argument between Stoker and his girlfriend's father, Ricky Carroll.
Investigators say Carroll may have beaten Stoker with a lead pipe then Stoker shot him. Reports show Carroll was shot five times.
No charges have been filed, but the SBI and Elizabethtown Police Department continue to investigate the case.
