WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - More than 1,500 students from the University of North Carolina Wilmington will turn their tassels Saturday.
School officials say the 78th commencement will present a record number of fall and summer students graduating. 1,342 undergraduate and 387 graduate students are expected to receive degrees and begin the next chapter in their lives.
The gradation ceremony for graduate and professional schools will begin Saturday morning at 9:30 in Trask Coliseum. College of Arts and Sciences undergraduates will march into their ceremony, also in Trask Coliseum, at 1:30 p.m.
Guests must present tickets in order to attend any of the commencement ceremonies.
Extra tickets will be dispersed at the Trask Coliseum box beginning one hour prior to each ceremony. Early arrival is advised, as tickets are limited. Visitors will park in lot K.
The general public is advised to avoid university entrances, as surrounding traffic may be heavy.
