WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Statistics from the North Carolina Employment Security Commission show unemployment rates increased in 74 of the state's 100 counties in October.
Cape Fear Community College has a program that could help reduce that trend. CFCC will hold three new short-term programs targeted at finding work for unemployed and underemployed people starting next year.
The college is adding classes for Behavioral Health Technicians, Plumbing Apprentices and Route Sales Representatives, on top of the programs already being offered for Food Service Worker/Cook and Nurse Aide. The courses can be completed in six months of less and all cost under $250 for basic supplies and tuition.
