BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The Oak Island-Brusnwick County airport will soon have a longer runway, according to airport director Howie Franklin.
The airport will add more than 1,000 feet to its runway, allowing for jets to land during inclement weather. Jets currently have to land somewhere else when it is raining.
Airport officials are predicting the longer runway will bring in millions of extra dollars every year.
