NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Poplar Grove Plantation will host an old fashioned Christmas event Sunday, Dec. 6.
Visitors will be able to tour the home and see demonstrations from the Cape Fear Wood Carvers and other groups.
There will be a craft fair and visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Jeanne Walker with the Poplar Grove Plantation say the event is a way to take a break from the chaos of holiday shopping.
"It's very relaxed. There's no rush. There's no hustle. There's no bustle. Nobody's trying to push you to buy something," said Walker. "We just want you to come and enjoy the plantation and enjoy your leisurely day and leisurely start to the Christmas season."
The event is free and will only take place Sunday from noon until 5:00 p.m.
