A possum sneaks into a Wilmington computer business

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Nearly two years after a burglar broke into a computer business in Monkey Junction, another culprit has sneaked in - this time it's a possum.

The surveillance system at Chip's Computers on Carolina Beach Road caught the animal creeping around the store Monday night.

The same surveillance system helped police track down the man who robbed the business in March of 2008.

Employees now have a new mess to clean up, and a slight case of the jitters.

"It's a giant prehistoric rat," said Vincent Morelli with Chip's Computers.  "They say that they won't attack you if they see you. They'll just freeze, but don't touch them. I don't think I'd be willing to risk it."

Workers at Chip's Computers plan to have an animal trapper come to the business to track down the possum.
