WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Authorities are searching for two people accused of taking a Salvation Army kettle at a Wilmington retail store.

According to police, two men stole the money kettle from the K-Mart on South College Road around 5:30 Tuesday afternoon.

Salvation Bell Ringer Emil Glenn said he was within five feet of the kettle when the men took it.  He said they grabbed it and ran to a grey car in the parking lot and took off.

"When I turned back around, I looked at my kettle and my kettle wasn't there and then I saw these two guys running across the parking lot with it," said Glenn.

It is unclear how much money was taken.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Wilmington Police Department, (910) 343-3600 or TEXT A TIP708.
