WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - State Sen Julia Boseman and North Carolina film industry professionals presented on the current state of the North Carolina film industry on Thursday, November 12th, at Thalian Hall.
The Cucalorus film festival's "State of the State" panel discussion follows this year's passage of a 25% film tax incentive in North Carolina, an increase from 10%.
Local film industry professionals are continuing to look ahead to keep the industry growing.
The panel, which answered questions from the public, included Aaron Syrett, director of the N.C. film office, Johnny Griffin of the Wilmington Regional Film Commission, Bill Vassar, CEOof EUE Screen Gems studios, Kelly Tenny, co-producer of One Tree Hill, local actor Dave Andrews, UNCW film studies department chairman Lou Buttino and Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo.
Local actor Peter Jurasik moderated the event.
The discussion was taped and will air on the public access local government channel.
