WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - An artist for Disney will be joining other international artists for Paint Wilmington 2009.

Artists from across the country gather for the annual event to paint the landscapes, waters, and streets we call home.

Richard Oversmith from the western part of North Carolina will be joining Perry Austin, John Poon, Gavin Brooks, Larry Moore, and Steve Songer for the event.

Xiangyuan Jie, who painted backgrounds in movies like Ice Age 2, Mulan, and the Lion King, will also be part of the group of artists.

The 'Paint Wilmington! 2009' exhibition will open to the public Saturday, November 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and will be hanging at Walls Art Gallery through the end of December.

Paintings will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the Wrightsville Beach Museum and the Bellamy Mansion.
