NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Dozens of nurses from the Betty H. Cameron Women and Children's Hospital decided to take a break from work today, literally.
They participated in the 3rd annual Bowl-a-Thong.
All the nurses wore some type of costume... including thongs.
Everyone was split up into several different teams.
One nurse, Fifi Devito, explains that going bowling every year is a great way for them to relieve the stress of working in a hospital.
"We work very hard and we play very hard. The is our play. For three years now, we've come to the alleys and bowled. We have prizes and we all dress up in costumes. We just have a good time," said Devito.
There is a plaque hanging in the hospital that lists the names of the players on the winning team.
