PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Some senior citizens in Pender County are upset that some classes designed specifically for them are going to be cut.
For years, Cape Fear Community College has provided low-cost classes for seniors to learn skills from painting to using computers. But now, because of tough economic times, budget cuts will shut down some of those classes.
According to Pender County Commissioner Jimmy Tate there is no way to have as many classes as seniors are used to or to keep the costs as low as before.
Tate says he's working to see if Pender Adult Services can offer classes to replace some of what will be lost because of the CFCC cuts.
