WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Wilmington officials will test a centralized taxi stand in downtown Wilmington for the second time this weekend.
Halloween weekend, area leaders tried moving all the taxis to one location when the bars closed in an effort to cut down on congestion and increase pedestrian safety.
While the Wilmington Police Department said the pilot project went well, planners wanted to make a few adjustments.

This weekend, instead of having the taxis line up on Princess Street, patrons can hail a cab only at the intersection of Front and Dock Streets. From midnight to 3:00 a.m., taxi drivers are instructed to only pick up and drop off customers in that location.
