NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The New Hanover County school board will meet Tuesday night to discuss parents' concerns regarding middle school redistricting.

The school board held three public forums where people explained why they wanted their children to attend one school or another.

Several Ogden parents reiterated their desire for their students to attend Noble Middle School instead of the newly-built Holly Shelter.  Other parents, including those from the Monkey Junction area, talked about not wanting their child on a bus for extended periods of time.

The school board is expected to set dates for work sessions on the issue during their meeting Tuesday night.

The debate surrounds the issue of whether to district students by a loose "neighborhood schools" concept or by socio-economic factors to increase diversity.
