Shrimp Creole

Serves 6-8

Carolina in the Morning anchor Bob Townsend shares this spicy seafood recipe


2 lbs. shrimp (peeled and deveined)

1 medium chopped onion

1 small bell pepper chopped

1/2 cup of celery sliced

1/2 cup salad oil

2 tbls. flour

1 16 oz. can tomatoes, diced

1 6 oz. can tomatoe sauce

1/2 tsp garlic

1 bay leaf

1 tsp salt

2 tsp. chili powder

2 dashes hot sauce

1 cup tomatoe juice

2 tbls sugar


1) Saute Onion, Bell Pepper and Celery in oil; add flour and stir until smooth

2) Add Tomatoes, Tomatoe sauce and seasonings and let simmer for 25 minutes

3) Add Shrimp and Tomatoe juice; cover and simmer 10 minutes longer

4) Serve over hot rice.
