ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WECT) - The Elizabethtown Police Department and the SBI are investigating a shooting that left one man dead Thursday.

According to District Attorney Rex Gore, Caleb Stoker, 22, and Rick Carroll, 41, had an argument at Tory Hole Park, which is under the Highway 701 bridge.

Stoker was dating Carroll's daughter, and it is believed that's what started the argument.  Investigators say Carroll may have beaten Stoker with a lead pipe and Stoker shot and killed Carroll.

The District Attorney's Office is waiting for more information on the incident before they decide what charges should be filed, if any.
