WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Virus expert Andrew Suddith made an appearance at Cape Fear Community College Thursday to give a special lecture about his research and knowledge of H1N1.

Suddith is a scientist working with the virus at Kansas State University's veterinary diagnostic laboratory.  He and his research team have been working with H1N1 and provided answers in regards to the origin of the virus.

The virus expert explained the flu strain is difficult to control because it is constantly changing.

He says the best ways to avoid getting sick is by frequently washing your hands, coughing into your elbow, and by staying home if you feel ill.
