BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - After several months of searching, the Town of Calabash officially has a new town administrator.

Authorities arrested former administrator Jeremy Cribb on embezzlement charges in August.  Investigators said, Cribb lied on his resume to gain the position, then used a town credit card for hundreds of dollars worth of personal purchases.

Town Commissioners announced Wednesday Hiram Marziano will take over the position November 16.  He is currently the assistant town manger in Troy, NC.  Marziano started work with the Town of Troy as an intern in May 2006 and was promoted to a full time position in May 2007.

"We're extremely proud and I think the Town of Calabash will be please with him," said Town of Troy Manager Greg Zephir.

Marziano is the first Calabash Town Administrator to be required to pass a background check.
