NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - An Army Reserve Major and an airline pilot announced Thursday he will be running against Congressman Mike McIntyre next fall.
Will Breazeale fell short to McIntyre during last year's election, but told a crowd of supporters he wants to restore trust in Congress. He said this time around he's confident the election will have a different outcome.
"I campaign really hard in these ten counties - it's a huge district, 620,000 voters," said Breazeale. "They know my name. They know I'm a person of honor and integrity. They just need to get to know me better."
Breazeale said he's running for office under a "bond term limit." He said he'll only serve 6-years if elected. If he breaks that promise, he will pay Cape Fear Volunteers Center's Kids Voting $250,000.
