LELAND, NC (WECT) - Dozens of vehicles have been broken into over the last two months in Leland.

According to the Leland Police Department, all of the vehicles that have been broken into were left unlocked, so they are asking residents to take proactive measurers in securing their vehicles and property.

Authorities suggest residents lock their vehicles and remove valuable items like GPS's, MP3 players, DVD players, wallets, and purses.

Anyone with information regarding the recent vehicle break-ins is asked to contact the Leland Police Department's Investigative Division (910) 371-1100.
