Wilm. City Council names new city attorney

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Wilmington City Council has picked a native to step in as the new city attorney.

Carolyn Johnson will replace long-time City Attorney Tom Pollard, who is retiring at the end of November.

Johnson has served as general counsel for the North Carolina Turnpike Authority since 2007, and will start as city attorney Nov. 16.

She has more than 20 years of government experience and was a senior assist city attorney in Charlotte.
