NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Wilmington residents will soon join the popular 3G network.
People with phones with 3G capabilities may be able to already pick up the network intermittently as the network makes it way to the area full time.
"Wilmington is one of the last regions to receive the AT&T 3G network," said Dayle Bullard from Above and Beyond Wireless. "It was basically they have been working on our tours recently which has caused interruptions in the service from time to time. They are getting closing to finishing it."
Experts say the 3G technology allows users to quickly download games, videos, songs, ringtones, or access emails.
According to area AT&T retailers, Wilmington was the last to receive the upgrade.
