WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - New Hanover Regional Medical Center is expanding its health and diagnostic services to provide more imaging locations for the area.

According to a press release from NHRMC, the Health and Diagnostic Centers will be integrated with New Hanover Regional Medical Center's imaging and diagnostics capabilities, and Delaney Radiologists will provide professional interpretations of all imaging exams.

"The opening and expansion of these new Health and Diagnostic centers is part of our effort to reach out to the surrounding communities and bring important health and diagnostic services closer to where people live," said Jack Barto, NHRMC President and CEO, in a statement.  "We want our neighbors to have convenient access to the types of comprehensive diagnostic imaging services that can help them better maintain their health and identify potential issues at their earliest, most treatable stages."

Patients will now have the option of scheduling at eight locations.  The various centers will provide patients with more opportunity to schedule their mammography, bone density scan, MRI, CT scan, X-ray, ultrasound, or nuclear medicine testing at the time and location most convenient for them.

"The ability to call one number and schedule a procedure at several locations will be a big advantage," said Barto.  "Patients can take additional comfort in the skill of New Hanover Regional Medical Center's technologists and the expertise of the radiologists at Delaney Radiology who will read the scans."
