BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - More than 3,000 people die every year from sarcoma, which is a form of cancer.
Some people in Ocean Isle Beach will be lacing up their sneakers Saturday for the Inaugural Sarcoma Benefit Race.
The cancer effects connective tissues, bones, and muscles.
The race is in honor of 37-year-old Rae Lynn Yates, an Ocean Isle doctor who died from the disease last year.
Registration will be held Saturday morning at the Ocean Isle Beach Community Center, beginning at 6:30, and the run will begin at 8:00.
