COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Family members helped Chadbourn Police Officer identify a woman who sped through the scene of a warehouse fire Tuesday morning.

Around 7:00 a.m. a woman driving a red Pontiac sped down Chappin Street, nearly hitting a fire truck.

Police say the woman was trying to get her granddaughter on the other side of the road.

WECT had a camera rolling when the woman shifted into reverse, clipped a fire truck, and lead police on a foot chase.

Moments later the woman sped off nearly hitting an officer in the leg.

Officials say the woman has mental issues.  There is no word on whether charges will be filed.
