BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Some Brunswick County officials have been chosen to represent North Carolina at a national conference.
The Brunswick County emergency services director, a county commissioner, and two communication specialists will be heading to Phoenix, AZ Wednesday.
They were selected by the National Association of counties to attend a conference where they'll meet with representatives from the Department of Homeland Security to discuss communication issues.
"I think it speaks volumes that Brunswick County was selected," said Randy Thompson with Brunswick Co. Emergency Services. "You've got twelve localities across the United States that were selected and Brunswick County was one of those."
The trip is being paid for by the National Associations of Counties.
