PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Pender County will hold an Immunity Day to resolve any outstanding misdemeanor cases.
On November 4, the $200 fine for failing to appear in court will be waived for those who go to the courthouse to resolve their cases by either pleading guilty to the original misdemeanor charges or by getting the charges reduced or dismissed.
Beginning October 1, people can go to the Pender County Courthouse to schedule and appointment to resolve their cases.
After November 4, anyone with pending failure to appear warrants may be facing jail time.
If Immunity Day is successful, District Attorney Ben David plans to start a similar day in New Hanover County.
