WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A case involving a large homeless camp found in Wilmington has been closed, according to Code Enforcement Officer Tim Weeks.
This summer, property owner Sharon Efird learned that dozens of homeless people were living on her property when the city cited her for public nuisance. She was given a few weeks to clear the property.
According to Efird, her part of the property was cleared in August. Land surveyors told Efird that the remaining mess belongs to a nearby car shop. Officials say most of the land owned by the car shop had been mostly cleared Monday.
