WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Hundreds of citizens across southeastern North Carolina will rally this weekend in Washington, DC to protest against several issues, including the President's plan for healthcare reform.
Over 400 participants will load busses early Saturday morning and make the trip to the U.S. Capitol. They plan to spend the day listening to political speakers and protesting outside of the White House.
Organizer Joe Rumsey said this is a spontaneous trip where people will unite to voice their concerns in Washington.
The event will be similar to one held in Monkey Junction last month, which was sponsored by Americans for Prosperity of North Carolina.
