COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) - A Tabor City teen has bonded his way out of jail, for the second time in less than a week.

The Tabor City Police Department arrested 17-year-old Allen Strickland Sunday after they say he took officers on a high-speed chase.

Captain Folley with the Tabor City Police department said Strickland did a U-turn in the middle of the road, and then fish tailed his Corvette several times during the chase, which reached speeds of 75 mph.

The teen posted a $500,000 bond Monday morning at 8:00.  He is now on house arrest until his next court date.

Strickland is facing charges of:

  • felony to elude arrest
  • no operators license
  • careless and reckless driving
  • falsely reporting theft of a motor vehicle

The Tabor City teen faced a judge last week on two felony charges, including charges of burning down his own home which was paid for by State Senator R.C. Soles.
