WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The chairman of North Carolina's Republican party was in Wilmington Friday to meet with local Republicans.

Tom Fetzer attended a luncheon at Carolina Bar-B-Q on South College Road.

He is making trips across the state to places where Democrats have been elected.  Fetzer hopes to have Republicans take over those seats so there can be a GOP majority in the NC House and Senate.

Fetzer spent most of the luncheon speaking about the state budget.
