I really enjoyed reading the emails we got on the Michael Vick commentary last week. It was about a 50-50 split - some agreed, and some didn't. But most who wrote made good points, like Walt:
I do not condone what Mr. Vick did; I am not fan of his but as a human being and a practicing Christian, I believe he is entitled to a second chance. How he chooses to use that chance is up to him.
But you could feel much more passion from those who disagree, like Pam:
Forgiveness has its limits. 66 innocent dogs suffered and died at the hands of someone who is a "good ball player". Surely "good ball players" can be found that are an example of kindness, not cruelty.
And from Daniel and Brenda:
Did you hear that kids? Go ahead beat dogs, electrocute them, drown them, and force them to fight each other to the death. It is okay because you can get a second chance.
And John offered this suggestion:
If Vick has really changed than he should give a part of his BIG salary to the Humane Society or PETA.
But my favorite had a unique and polite way of disagreeing with me. Fred wrote to say:
We agree on only one point - I am a WVU Fan.
And I say good for you Fred. Go Mountaineers!
